Bidgerley Tailings Dam Stage 2 - South Walker Creek Mine

The raising of the Bidgerley Tailings Dam at the South Walker Creek mine 140km west of Mackay was an important project due to increased demands and production in Australia’s Coal Industry. These works included raising two kilometres of existing dam embankment. The filter zone construction is an integral part to the dams operation and was constructed whilst at 80% capacity. The spillway design included the installation of a heavy duty polyethylene liner.
