S-Pit & U-Pit Levees Project

Nationwide Civil were engaged by Wesfarmers to construct the S-Pit & U-Pit Levees Project. Construction consisted of demolition of existing levees, removal of unsuitable material and reinstatement with selected and conditioned material to Level 1 DERM approval. Implications of an unsuccessful project would have included the mine ceasing operations for environmental reasons. This was a highly observed project and regarded as a great success, despite a record number and magnitude of rain events, including two cyclonic events, Nationwide Civil completed on time and without any disruption to the Clients mine operations.
